Severne Redwing Windsurfing Foil
Severne is all about windsurfing, and the Redwing foil is designed to let you windsurf more by getting more time on the water. This foil was designed to get you foiling easier and safer than ever, and having fun! Rigging is kept simple with minimal bolts to install, and only 2 different sizes of bolts (short for the wings and long for the mast). A single 5mm hex key is the only tool you need to assemble the Redwing (the same size that Severene uses for batten tensioners and footstrap hardware).Easy enough to get foiling for a beginner, but also high enough performance for foiling jibes and 360s or just cruising along at 20 knots. The 1400 square cm front wing has enough area to get you going without being slow. The low aspect shape is ideal for boards 65-85cm wide. The 95cm long fuselage gives you a more stable ride.
The rigid connections and torsional stiffness of this foil allow you to lock in on the foil and ride with confidence.
/ Vertical geometry maximizes stiffness. 19mm thick x 145mm wide. Much stiffer both longitudinally and torsionally than most carbon verticals.
/ Spigot on fuselage locks into the vertical section.
/ Fuselage uses straight sections for directional stability, and to maximize the strength/weight ratios.
/ 4x connection surfaces on the front wing connection reduces any movement.
Foiling is more fun when you’re not bleeding. So Severne considered every component and how it’s user friendliness could be improved.
/ All wingtips have rounded tips and are curved down, away from kicking feet.
/ Wing covers are designed to stay on during setup, minimizing accidents while on land.
/ 90cm vertical gives enough height for correct technique, minimizing both touchdowns and breaches. / Rigid aluminium hardware delivers consistent, reliable lift which increases control.
