The MDM diameter is the secret mast diameter numerous PWA racers have been using for years. This new diameter combines the extra strength of a reduced diameter mast, with the better leading edge and flex dynamics of an SDM. 

Note that you do need to use an MDM specific diameter mast extension with this new size. Of course North has you covered with both a carbon and aluminum version to choose from.
